Fee Refunds

  • High school activities
    The Minnesota State High School League has cancelled the spring activities season. Full refunds of participation fees will be automatically processed by the high school athletic departments for each student.  It is not necessary to request a refund. Refunds will be applied back to the account used for the original payment. In the case of cash payments, a paper check will be issued and mailed to the family, no later than the end of the school year.

    Meal account balances
    All meal balance funds remain in the student’s account and will remain available for the student’s use, when the school lunch program resumes. Standard protocol remains in effect for families who may leave the District or have a graduating senior. Complete the Request For Refund form and email to nutritionservices@moundsviewschools.org. Refunds will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The check will be issued and mailed to the family, no later than the end of the school year.

    Transportation fees 
    With the announcement from Governor Walz to extend the distance learning order through the end of the school year, Mounds View will begin the process of refunding a portion of bus transportation fees for families. Each family’s fee is dependent on several variables. Therefore, the transportation department will calculate the refund amount for each family automatically. It is not necessary to request a refund. The refund amount will be based on the cancellation of transportation services from March 23 (subsequent to spring break) through June 4. The refunds will be processed, and a check will be mailed to the home address no later than the end of school. If you have a question, please email transportation@moundsviewschools.org. 

    High school parking fees
    Irondale and Mounds View will begin the process of refunding a portion of student parking fees for families. Each family’s fee is dependent on several variables. Therefore, the high schools will calculate the refund amount for each family automatically. It is not necessary to request a refund. The refund amount will be based on the unused portion of parking fees from March 23 (subsequent to spring break) through June 4. The refunds will be processed, and a check will be mailed to the home address no later than the end of the school year.

    Early Childhood Family Education classes
    Spring ECFE classes through Community Education have been cancelled as a result of COVID-19. Preschool families will receive a prorated refund for March and not be charged for April and May classes. Preschool students will continue to receive class materials from their teachers during this time. A final decision on the rest of the school year will be made based on the Governor's decision regarding school closures. Early Childhood staff began processing fee refunds on April 1.     Community Education Spring classes
    Spring classes through Community Education have been cancelled as a result of COVID-19.  Community Education staff began processing fee refunds on April 1.
