Hey there!

My name is Ms. Allisen Merrill, but my guess is that if you're here, you already know that!  I am in my 7th year teaching my FAVORITE subject: ENGLISH!!!  I graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with my Bachelor's of Science degree in Communication Arts and Literature Education. I also completed my Masters of Arts degree at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania for ... ENGLISH! :) I am the mother of three wonderful children: Acacia (18), Shelby (17), and Azure (13). I have a wicked awesome husband named Cory, three slightly naughty dogs named (Nerf, Rocky, and Deeohgee), and two sly cats (Tom Sawyer and Pluto). I thoroughly enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, going to concerts, listening to podcasts, debating all things, being sarcastic, and having lots of fun in general. Most importantly though, I am fascinated by rhetoric -- so much so that I actually wrote my entire master's thesis on Artivistic Rhetoric, or the act of using art as a means for making social change. To me, communication is what makes us such fascinating creatures. I am SO happy that you and I will HOPEFULLY get to communicate with each other this year at Mounds View High School, and I simply cannot wait to meet you!
