Just a quick update to share with you all... Our first day of Chromebook distribution has gone very well. It was good to see so many people and we were able to keep appropriate social distance while making sure students got their technology and musical instruments. If you didn’t come today please come tomorrow (Wednesday) during your time slot. Many people have asked about cleaning out lockers and gym lockers, and we will cross that bridge when we are required to do so.
Teachers have been working very hard on creating robust distance learning plans for their classes. I have created a video (I’m learning to do this, too!) with some general information and I invite you to watch it so you can see a broad overview of our plans. You will get a lot more specific information from deans and teachers, but I wanted to make sure to communicate with you as well. Some teachers have begun sending out welcome information, and you can expect that on or before March 30, with our first day of distance learning starting at 8:30 am on Monday, March 30.
The most common question I have been asked is about how long we are planning to do distance learning. We don’t have an answer for that, yet. But, my commitment is that we will communicate with you both as a district and as a school with as much information as we can, as frequently as needed.
We miss our students already! We miss seeing parents already! But, we have a phenomenal community and we will remain connected, even if it has to be virtually. Reach out to me, to our associate principal, Kathyrn Bennett, or your child’s dean with any questions or concerns.
