Student Information and Data Privacy

Highview parents,

This letter is to inform you that Highview Middle School utilizes a variety of software applications and web-based tools operated by third party vendors to support student learning. These instructional supports are vetted through a district and school review process to ensure they support our instructional goals and protect our student data. The use of these tools by students is governed by the Federal Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA). The intent of COPPA is to safeguard students’ personal information when students are accessing online services including apps and websites.

A list of vetted and approved tools used at Highview can be found below. If any additional tools are added during the year, a Highview staff member will contact you to inform you of how these tools will be used and add them to this list.
