Band Registration

The Island Lake Band Program is available to students in the 5th grade. There will be a band meeting before school on Tuesday, September 10 from 8:05-9:05 in the band room. All students interested in band should plan to attend (no instruments for this meeting).

Large-group rehearsals will be on Monday or Tuesday mornings before school from 8:05 to 9:05 in the band room. Students will be expected to attend one of these morning rehearsals as scheduled. You may indicate your morning preference on the registration form (see link below). If there is no preference, students will be assigned based on instrumentation. If you are interested in carpooling with other band families, click HERE to add your name to the carpool list.

Band students will also receive small-group lessons during the day on Mondays or Tuesdays. The schedule for rehearsals and lessons will be posted and e-mailed by September 12 and we will begin our regular schedule the following week.

There will be 3 evening concerts scheduled this year:
Winter Concert: Tues. Dec. 17, 6:30-7:00 pm at Island Lake Elementary School

East Side Band Festival: Thurs. Jan. 23, 7:00-8:00 pm at Mounds View High School

Spring Concert: Wed. May 20, 7:30-8:00 pm at Bethel University

Instrument Donations
Have you come across any instruments buried in the closet or under the bed recently? Wondering what you can do with them? You may consider making a donation to your very own school’s band program! There are many students who are looking to participate in the school band but do not have the resources to get their own instrument.

This would be a wonderful way for you to contribute to your community as well as provide students with a valuable opportunity. Instruments should be in decent playing condition. Donations are tax-deductible. Please contact Mrs. Sorem to make the necessary arrangements: or 651-621-7763.
