Orchestra Information

Returning Instruments
Students with a school owned instrument should keep it over the summer. Any student who has a school owned instrument who is not part of the orchestra program next year, should return their instrument to Island Lake during the first week of school in the fall. Please make sure the instrument is clearly labeled with the student's name.

Attention 4th & 5th Grade Orchestra Students
We know 4th & 5th graders have been anxiously waiting for their chance to sign up for SUMMER ORCHESTRA and NOW is the time! Orchestra is a fun, exciting, and vibrant community to be a part of.

Since we can’t meet in person we are preparing an exciting program using new digital tools to help you continue to grow your skills in Orchestra! This year, classes will meet for 30 minutes on Mondays/Wednesdays OR Tuesdays/Thursdays from July 6 - 30. For full details and registration information, click on this link to Mounds View Community Education’s website and search “orchestra”.

We will also prepare to perform the National Anthem at the Twins game on Tuesday, September 15. We have reserved the date, but the performance will be confirmed at a later date based on updated state guidelines and recommendations.

We look forward to making and exploring new music with you this summer!

Orchestra information for third graders
We know third graders have been anxiously waiting to sign up for orchestra, and now is the time! Orchestra is a fun, exciting and vibrant community. Since we can’t meet in person, this video will show you just a few of the experiences Mounds View Orchestra students have. At the end of the video, you'll see all of the instruments, so you can decide which one is right for you!

This short survey will make sure we get all the information you need in order to join orchestra. Your student’s future orchestra teacher will follow up with more details. We are looking forward to being back together again and having an amazing fourth grade orchestra. We hope you’ll join us!
