Mounds View Summer Band

July 12 - August 5
Mondays - Thursdays

Current 4th Graders
Starting the summer after 4th grade your child can begin participating in Band! About 90% of band students start the summer after 4th grade. There will also be an opportunity to start in the fall of 5th grade.

The SUMMER BEGINNING BAND PROGRAM is designed for students with no previous experience on a band instrument. Instruction consists of a 45-minute small-group lesson each day. We cover about a half-year's worth of material in four weeks. Students may choose from the following band instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba and Percussion. You may watch a video demonstration of all of these instruments HERE. The fee is $115. Summer Band lessons will be offered in-person at various sites throughout the district. There will also be an option for on-line instruction. Morning and evening times will be available for all instruments. (Click HERE to see specific lesson times and locations.)

Online registration is open! Click HERE for more information about registration and instrument rental. For additional assistance, you may meet with Mrs. Sorem at one of our Virtual Band Information Nights.
