Band Sign-Up Nights

Starting the summer after 4th grade your child can begin participating in Band. About 90% of band students start the summer after 4th grade. Students will also have the opportunity to start in the fall of 5th grade.

The summer beginning band program consists of a 45-minute small-group lesson, Monday through Thursday, for four weeks starting Monday, July 10 through Thursday, August 3. We cover about a year’s worth of material in four weeks. The summer session concludes with a concert for parents the evening of the last day and an optional performance at Valleyfair on Friday, August 4.

Summer Band will be offered at all elementary schools during the morning and at Chippewa and Highview Middle Schools in the evening. Students taking summer school during the day will be excused from their summer class to attend their band lessons.

Students may choose from the following band instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba and Percussion. School instruments are available for students with financial need.
