Programming information

    • Summer school instructional programs
      Mounds View Public Schools will offer six weeks of in-person summer instructional programming for students in grades K-12, taking place June through August. The focus for Kindergarten through grade 8 will be on reading and math, and ensuring students are prepared for the next level. All summer instructional programming will be limited to students who have received referrals directly from their school. Locations and additional information will be provided to participants. Community education programs and Y Care will be available to students in addition to this instructional programming. Transportation will be provided to and from all summer school sites, and to Y Care sites. Transporation will not be available at the conclusion of Y Care or community education activities. 

    • Special Education Extended School Year (ESY)
      ESY services will be in-person at sites across the District. Questions about ESY may be directed to your student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) case manager.

    • Community Education 
      Community Education offers a variety of summer programs and opportunities including youth and adult activities, enrichment classes, GED preparation, English Language Learner classes, early childhood classes, parent education classes and more. To learn more and to register, click here.

    • Summer day camps
      Community education offers summer day camps for grades K-7 throughout the summer. Learn more and register at

    • Laurentian Environmental Center
      Laurentian Environmental Center remains closed and no summer programming will be offered. 

    • Band and orchestra
      Summer band and orchestra programs are offered throughout the summer. Click the links below to learn more and register.

Health and safety information

  • MaskWe’re looking forward to safe and healthy school environments for summer 2021! That’s why Mounds View Public Schools will follow these requirements and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).


    • The CDC requires face coverings for those on buses.
    • MDH requires schools to report positive cases.


    • The MDH and CDC strongly recommended that all people present in school buildings wear a face covering, even if vaccinated.
    • Physical distancing and cohorting will continue.
    • Routine cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces will continue.
    • Hand hygiene practices and routines will continue.
    • Health screenings at home will continue.
    • Isolating individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will continue.
    • Contact tracing and notifying individuals who have been exposed will continue.
